For the glass fronted Room of Silence in the newly built Psychiatric Hospital in Gießen, the inner surface of the glazing was firstly lined with enamels and subsequently laser-etched; offering privacy, whilst still enabling an optical connection between the inside and outside- just as before. The artistic design purposely takes into account the interdenominational assertion of the space.
